MTN Nigeria is part of the MTN Group, Africa\'s leading cellular telecommunications company. On May 16, 2001, MTN became the first GSM network to make a call following the globally lauded Nigerian GSM auction conducted by the Nigerian Communications Commission earlier in the year. Mission:
- Responsible for the management of Network Enterprise Services and Fixed Broadband Services Operations in the region.
- To manage NES regional operations activities and provide top class post implementation support for MTNN Enterprise and Fixed Broadband Services.
Description:
- Manage the activities of the NES operations in the region.
- Manage the NES region to ensure service vendors and 3rd party contractors responsible for routine and call-out maintenance of NES networks and systems are performing within agreed SLA.
- Monitor regional network performance, MSV coverage clusters and configuration to ensure operational presence in the cities under the region are adequately supported to meet and conformance with signed KPI’s.
- Work closely with RTMs to handle local network queries raised by the stakeholder teams (Client Success team, NSMC)
- Support supply chain in technical evaluations of all new vendors or intending vendors.
- Manage and ensure full scoping of all requests sent to supply chain.
- Set individual objectives for team members.
- Support the SM by providing timely field sensitive feedback.
- Understanding the telecommunication industry local trends and developments in order to assess the impact on MTN’s NES current and future business.
- Drive MTN Nigeria quality control process – Acceptance Test Procedure of Enterprise and FBB Services, Planned Preventive Maintenance, and HQ Redundancy failover.
- Process development and optimization.
- Manage the provision of specialist technical support to all other departments in the region regarding the network and optimize the use of resources within the region.
- Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports to identified stakeholders.
- Inter department collaboration / interface with other Network group department, Enterprise Business, Fixed Broadband Service and stakeholders.
- Coach and train the team to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, awareness of set targets/requirements and regularly review their training needs.
- Review performance of individual team members and complete appraisals in accordance with the employee performance appraisal procedures and time schedules.
- Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities as well as set up key performance indicators for team members.
Education:
- A first degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering/Computer or Telecommunications Engineering
- Management Degree will be an advantage.
- Fluent in English
Experience:
6 - 13 years’ experience which includes:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in telecommunications environment, with experience in supervising or managing others
- Experience working in a medium to large organization.
- Experience in Radio Access Network, Fiber, FTTX Operation and Maintenance.
- Performance Management in a Telecommunications Environment
- Experience in Managed Service environment in a multi-vendor network.
- Advance knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Power BI, SQL etc
