The Role
- We're seeking a .NET Backend Lead to build and lead the development of our core backend services. You'll work closely with our engineering leadership to deliver production-ready systems that handle real-time betting operations, payments, and high-volume transactions. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend significant time coding while also guiding and mentoring a growing team of backend engineers.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team of backend engineers in building scalable .NET services
- Design and implement APIs for betting operations, user management, and payment processing
- Build real-time systems for odds updates, bet placement, and settlement
- Integrate with third-party payment providers and ensure transaction reliability
- Write clean, maintainable code following established best practices and standards
- Conduct thorough code reviews and mentor junior/mid-level engineers
- Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to deliver seamless user experiences
- Work with DevOps on AWS deployments, monitoring, and system optimization
- Participate in technical planning and sprint execution
- Contribute to engineering culture and process improvements
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years in .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core)
- Experience leading or mentoring a team of engineers
- Strong track record building and shipping production systems
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design
- Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and ORMs (Entity Framework)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerization (Docker)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to code quality
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Highly Valued:
- Experience in fintech, payments, or gaming/betting platforms
- Knowledge of message queues (RabbitMQ, SQS) and caching (Redis)
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with event-driven architectures
- Understanding of security best practices for financial applications
- Background at fast-paced startups or tech companies
