Responsibilities
The NOC manager is crucial in overseeing and maintaining the network infrastructure of the company. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic planning, and leadership skills. Key responsibilities include:
- Network Management and Maintenance: Overseeing the daily operations of the organization's network infrastructure This includes monitoring network performance, ensuring reliable and efficient operation by the technical team, and performing regular maintenance and upgrades.
- Technical Leadership and Team Supervision: Leading a team of network engineers and technicians This involves not only directing the team’s activities but also providing technical guidance, training, and support to ensure they are equipped to handle complex networks issues.
- Strategy Development for Network Expansion and Upgrades: Developing long-term strategies for network expansion, upgrades, and integration of new technologies This is crucial for maintaining an up-to-date and efficient network that meets the growing needs of the organization.
- Security Management: Ensuring the security of the network against threats such as cyber attacks This involves implementing security protocols, monitoring network activity for signs of suspicious behaviour, and responding to security breaches.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning: Developing and implementing disaster recovery plans to ensure that the network remains operational in the event of a crisis, such as a natural disaster or a major technical failure.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensuring that network operations comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements This also involves monitoring network performance and implementing measures to improve quality and reliability.
- Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration: Communicating effectively with other departments, management, and external stakeholders to align network operations with the overall goals of the organization and to ensure that network capabilities meet the needs of users.
- Problem Resolution and Decision Making: Identifying and resolving complex network issues and making critical decisions that can impact the overall performance and security of the network.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing network performance data to identify trends, anticipate potential issues, and make informed decisions about network management and improvements.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related courses.
- Minimum of 5 years Network managing experience in an ISP environment or a systems integration company with specialization in enterprise and service provider.
- Strong routing and switching experience including L2 Protocols, L3 Protocols (spanning tree, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and DMVPN, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and architectures.
- Knowledge of network security best practices and experience implementing security measures.
- Knowledge of Fiber Technology.
