APM Terminals is an international container terminal operating company headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands. It is one of the world's largest port and terminal operators as well as providing cargo support and container Inland Services, and is the largest port and terminal operating company in terms of overall geographic scope operating a Global Terminal Network with interests in 63 operating port and terminal facilities in 39 countries on five continents, with seven new port projects in development, as well as over 160 Inland Services operations providing container transportation, management, maintenance and repair in 48 countries. In 2012 APM Terminals was also named winner of the "Port Operator of the Year" Award at the Lloyd's List 2012 Global Awards. 2013 Results The APM Terminals Global Terminal Network handled 36.3 million TEUs in 2013, (weighted by equity share) representing a 3% growth over 2012's container throughput.[5] APM Terminals earned a profit of USD $770 million on revenue of USD $4.33 billion during the year, with a return on invested capital (ROIC) of 13.5%. Operational cash flow for 2013 was USD $923 million, compared with USD $910 million the year prior. Portfolio developments in 2013 included the formal signing of an agreement between APM Terminals and Turkish-based Petkim to develop and operate a new deep-water port facility near Izmir, on the western Anatolian Coast. APM Terminals Izmir will be one of Turkey’s largest container and general cargo terminals, and will be able to accommodate vessels of over 10,000 TEU capacity. It is scheduled to open by mid-2015. APM Terminals, along with consortium partners Bolloré Africa Logistics and French-based Bouygues Construction, was also named winner of the concession for a second container terminal at the Port of Abidjan, in the Ivory Coast. The Public-Private Partnership terminal project will be able to accommodate vessels of up to 8,000 TEU capacity, greatly expanding the role of the port as a regional hub for West Africa. Global Ports Investments PLC (in which APM Terminals holds a co-controlling 30.75% share) completed the acquisition of NCC Group Limited, Russia's second-largest terminal operating company, and Brasil Terminal Portuário, in which APM terminals holds a 50% interest, was officially inaugurated at the Port of Santos, South America's busiest container port.
- As the Operations Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in optimizing our operations at the Apapa terminal. This position involves translating data into meaningful insights, supporting key operational decisions, and improving processes. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth operations while continuously enhancing our data platforms to meet business demands.
Responsibilities:
- With an emphasis on operations on vessel, yard and rail, barge and gate, performance productivity to be maintained, monitored, and evaluated.
- Operations individual KPIs and objective to define, maintain and to monitored with timely update and evaluation to improve skillset of White and Blue collar.
- Obligatory to maintain customer performance and forecast to seek business development opportunities, and to ensure Quality service provide based on Deliverables withing Cost.
- Develop and maintain our data platform to keep up with the ever-increasing demand for data.
- Design and integrate new sources, extract, transform and load data into our data model and data platform structure.
- Automate and optimize processes within our data platform.
- Develop new BI products and dashboards in close cooperation with the business and operation need.
- Team up with information analysts, to ensure efficient and effective BI solutions.
- Enable self-service BI for the business and train BI representatives.
- Contribute with your expertise to the development of a globally/regionally integrated data platform in the near future.
- Create and maintain historical data including achieve data record.
- Responsible to maintain operations staff performance data including, attendance, attitude record, safety and other relevant details to evaluate employee’s performance periodically.
- Accountable to create required ppt, posters, newsletters and writeup to communicate performance.
- Enhance operational knowledge and skillset required to perform assigned task and to attain out of assigned task to improve terminal business.
- Flexibility and capabilities to conduct skill development trainings and classes.
- Lead and participate country, region, global and customer driven projects assigned by Manager.
- Lead and chair operation meetings and gatherings as required.
- Communication and coordination with shipping lines if required.
- Ensures adherence to procedures during exceptions
Who We Are Looking For
- At least a bachelor’s or master's degree, or related discipline.
- Previous experience as an Analyst or BI developer.
- Thorough knowledge in advanced excel data platform concepts.
- Thorough knowledge in the field of BI and data platform concepts.
- Exhaustive knowledge and skill in MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Comprehensive writing skill.
- Overview and knowledge in terminal industry.
- Requires good verbal and written communications skills in English and the local language.
- Has familiarity with the strict implementation of procedure, process and best practices in terminal operations.
- Requires good interpersonal skills to interact across section of the company’s departments, at all levels, and with customers.
