About the Role

  • We are looking for a highly skilled and influential Public Relations Officer with over 5 years of professional experience and strong connections with government agencies and officials.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting the company’s image, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and ensuring effective communication between the company and the public.
  • This role requires a strategic communicator who has proven expertise in media relations, corporate representation, stakeholder engagement, and crisis communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective PR strategies that enhance the company’s public image and reputation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, agencies, media houses, and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare press releases, speeches, reports, and communication materials on behalf of the company.
  • Represent the company at official meetings, events, and public engagements.
  • Manage and coordinate media coverage, interviews, and press briefings.
  • Monitor public opinion and provide strategic advice on improving the company’s public perception.
  • Handle crisis communication and ensure timely, accurate responses to sensitive issues.
  • Organise corporate events, outreach programs, and community engagement activities.
  • Maintain an updated database of government contacts, media partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Support management in drafting correspondence and communication for official purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in Public Relations or Corporate Communications.
  • Strong and verifiable connections with government officials and relevant government bodies.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop high-quality communication materials and official publications.
  • Proven experience in managing media relations and public engagements.
  • Strong understanding of public policy, corporate communication dynamics, and PR strategies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Good organisational and event planning skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in crisis management and political communication.
  • Strong negotiation skills and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to develop creative and compelling PR campaigns.
  • Proficiency in social media communication and digital PR tools.
