Job Summary

  • The QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of fintech products and platforms.
  • This includes mobile apps, web portals, POS systems, payment APIs, wallet applications, and digital banking platforms.
  • The QA professional designs and executes test plans, identifies defects, and works with engineering teams to deliver secure, compliant, and user-friendly products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web, mobile, API, and backend systems.
  • Conduct manual and automated testing across all fintech products and features.
  • Ensure test coverage for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Implement and maintain automated test suites using tools like Selenium, Cypress, Postman, JMeter, or similar.
  • Support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with automated testing.
  • Track and report automated test results, failures, and defect trends.
  • Identify, log, and track software defects in collaboration with developers and product teams.
  • Verify defect resolution and perform regression testing to ensure fixes are effective.
  • Maintain detailed QA documentation including test results, defect reports, and test metrics.
  • Conduct load, stress, and performance testing for critical fintech systems.
  • Support security testing for vulnerabilities, encryption, authentication, and transaction integrity.
  • Ensure applications meet regulatory compliance standards (CBN, PCI-DSS, NDPR, KYC/AML guidelines).
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.
  • Provide actionable feedback to improve product functionality, usability, and stability.
  • Identify QA process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance product quality.
  • Stay updated on QA best practices, fintech trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Implement metrics and dashboards to track QA effectiveness and test coverage.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • B.Sc./HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • 7 - 10 years’ experience in QA within fintech, banking, payments, or technology companies.
  • Experience with testing web, mobile, API, and backend systems.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies: functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools (Selenium, Cypress, Postman, JMeter, etc.).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, Agile/Scrum workflows, and version control (Git).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Basic understanding of fintech regulations, payment processing, and security standards.
