Responsibilities
- Test Planning: Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements and specifications.
- Test Execution: Execute various types of tests, including functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing.
- Defect Identification: Identify, document, and track defects or issues in the software and work with developers to resolve them.
- Test Automation: Create and maintain automated test scripts if using automation tools and integrate these into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
- Requirement Analysis: Review and analyze requirements and design documents to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals and constraints and provide feedback on usability and functionality.
- Reporting: Provide detailed reports on testing progress, defect status, and overall quality of the software.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of test cases, test results, and defect reports for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance overall product quality.
- User Perspective: Ensure that the software meets user expectations and provides a good user experience.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in writing and executing test cases, and familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit) is a plus.
- Experience with test management tools and bug tracking systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Experience with agile development methodologies is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4-5 years of experience in software testing, with a solid understanding of testing methodologies and best practices.
- Experience working with a software or technology company will be an added advantage
