Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quantitative Data Collector to join our research team. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering primary data through structured surveys and ensuring the reliability of our research outcomes. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen interest in data accuracy and integrity. Data collectors with appropriate knowledge of quantitative research and interpersonal skills would be recruited and trained in each state. The data collection will be conducted in specific LGAs in two states, Nasarawa State and Kaduna State. The specific LGAs include: 

  • Nasarawa State: Doma LGA and Nasarawa LGA.
  • Kaduna State: Igabi LGA, Sabon-Gari LGA, Sanga LGA and Kauru LGA

DATA COLLECTORS MUST RESIDE IN THESE AFORE-MENTIONED LGAs.

Requirements

The RAs will be recruited based on the following criteria:

  • Young people (Male and Female) between age 20-35
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience as an enumerator.
  • Experience conducting surveys in the Northern states.
  • Proficient in using Google maps for navigation
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
  • Experience with data collection methods, tools such as ODK/Kobo Collect/SurveyCTO
  • Fluency in speaking and reading Hausa.
  • Understanding of the geography (what/who is where) of the communities.
  • Quick learners
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with ethical standards and guidelines for research, data collection and privacy.
  • Ability to travel to various locations for data collection purposes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection using the provided data collection tools/devices across facilities in the assigned state after obtaining appropriate participant consent.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of the data collected, and ensure it is consistent with established standards and requirements.
  • Work effectively with the state lead and other collaborators to ensure timely delivery of project tasks and coordinate efforts to gather the necessary information.
  • Ensure that data is properly categorized, labeled and organized for easy retrieval and analysis.
  • Follow established procedures for data collection and ensure compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on data collection progress and results to state lead and project manager.
  • Submit daily data collection progress reports during the data collection period.

Note: Only data collectors that reside in the stated LGAs will be shortlisted.
