Summary

  • We are looking for a highly analytical and results-driven senior data analyst to join our dynamic FMCG team in Lagos.
  • In this role, you will leverage consumer, sales, and market data to generate actionable insights that drive growth, optimize operations, and support strategic decision-making across sales, marketing, and supply chain functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales, trade, and distribution data to identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities across channels (modern trade, general trade, key accounts, and HORECA).
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to evaluate campaign effectiveness, pricing strategy, and promotional ROI.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and automated reports to track KPIs such as volume growth, market share, trade performance, and outlet penetration.
  • Support demand forecasting and inventory planning through data modeling and trend analysis.
  • Monitor competitive intelligence and market trends using internal and syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, retail audit reports).
  • Segment customers and regions for more targeted and efficient sales strategies.
  • Present data-driven recommendations to management and cross-functional teams.
  • Provide mentorship to junior analysts and ensure best practices in data governance and analytics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
  • 4 - 6 years of experience in a data analytics role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Advanced Excel and data visualization skills (Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools).
  • Experience with statistical tools such as Python or R is an added advantage.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of FMCG market dynamics, sales cycles, and channel structures.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate data into business insights.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
