Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our client's team in Abuja.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- You will play a strategic role in bridging development and operations, driving automation, reliability, and best-in-class DevOps practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software delivery
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize build, release, and deployment processes
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability; implement alerting and incident response processes
- Manage cloud and on-premise environments
- Implement and enforce security best practices across infrastructure and pipelines
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and production issues
- Lead DevOps initiatives and mentor junior engineers
- Document infrastructure architecture, processes, and operational runbooks
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or infrastructure roles.
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix system administration.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with Helm, ArgoCD, or GitOps workflows
- Knowledge of networking concepts (VPCs, load balancers, DNS, firewalls)
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards
- Experience supporting microservices and distributed systems
- Exposure to FinTech, SaaS, or high-availability environments
- Experience with cost optimization and performance tuning in cloud environments
