Chowdeck is a technology company that provides logistics services to both vendors and consumers. This potentially allows food vendors to deliver meals seamlessly while also providing consumers with an easy platform to order meals from their favourite restaurants in their city.
- We're looking for an experienced Mobile Engineer at Chowdeck who'll be responsible for building the mobile interfaces through which customers interact with our products. We have three mobile apps: the customer app, where people order food; our vendors' app, used by restaurants; and the Rider's app, used by delivery drivers. We use React Native and JavaScript but also leverage native APIs for deep integrations.

We'll trust you to:
- Build and maintain features on one or more of our three mobile apps for customers, vendors and riders
- Build app and UI components from prototypes and wireframes
- Build pixel-perfect, smooth UIs across both major mobile platforms, iOS and Android.
- Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms when necessary
- Continuously Improve front-end performance by eliminating performance bottlenecks.
- Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks so our apps feel as native as possible.
- Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure our products are of the highest quality.
- Work with engineers across the company to build and maintain new features at large-scale.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
You'll thrive as a Senior Mobile Engineer if you:
- We are motivated by the opportunity to improve the lives of our restaurants, riders and customers.
- Significant professional experience building large, production-grade mobile apps and experience as a team or technical lead is a plus.
- Have a firm handle on JavaScript, React Native and its many nuances
- Are familiar with native build tools such as XCode and Gradle as well as Fastlane for automated CI/CD
- Have fundamental knowledge of Node, JavaScript, and MySQL
- Have experience building delight into products using animations where necessary
- Have experience using and implementing automated testing suites for mobile
- Can write code that meets our standards for style, maintainability, testability and best practices for a high-scale web environment.
- Can think through product requirements to come up with ways of quickly solving problems without compromising quality
- Care deeply about speed, performance, and quality application design
- Can communicate what you're working on to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Have a deep and unrelenting focus on customer satisfaction and experience
