Job Summary
- We are seeking a skilled social media and Public Relations (PR) Staff to join our team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our organization's social media presence and implementing effective PR strategies to enhance our brand image and visibility.
- This role requires creativity, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of various social media platforms and PR techniques.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness, positioning, engagement, and followership across various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, blog, email).
- Create and curate engaging content for social media posts, including images, videos, and written content.
- Monitor social media channels for trends, feedback, and conversations relevant to our brand, industry, and competitors.
- Monitor social media and website growth metrics monthly.
- Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner, fostering positive interactions and building relationships with our audience.
- Send cold calling messages to our target audience on various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, email).
- Collaborate with otherBrands and Comms teammembersto align social media efforts with overall goals and objectives.
- Analyse social media metrics and insights to track performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize content and strategies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, social media best practices, and emerging platforms to recommend new approaches and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, bloggers to generate positive media coverage and publicity for our organization.
- Draft press releases, media pitches, and other PR materials to promote company initiatives, events, products, and milestones.
- Monitor and evaluate PR campaigns and initiatives to assess effectiveness and ROI.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including executives, subject matter experts, and other departments, to gather information and insights for PR activities.
- Handle crisis communications and manage reputation risks effectively, maintaining transparency and integrity in all communications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
- Proven experience (at least 3 years) in social media management and public relations, preferably in a corporate or agency environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, and analytics.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and narratives for diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of social media analytics tools and metrics to measure performance and inform strategy.
- Knowledge of PR principles, tactics, and media relations strategies.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and brand building.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software is a plus.
- Experience in crisis communication management is desirable.
- Proactive attitude, resourcefulness, and willingness to adapt to evolving trends and technologies in social media and PR.
