Job Summary
- We seek a Social Media & Gallery Assistant who would play a dual role in supporting both online and physical gallery operations.
- The position involves managing digital platforms to promote gallery events, artists, and exhibitions while also assisting with day-to-day gallery functions such as visitor engagement, event setup, and administration.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Digital Marketing:
- Plan, create, and schedule engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok.
- Assist with content creation including photography, video editing, and captions.
- Monitor trends, analytics, and audience engagement across all platforms.
- Help grow the gallery’s online presence and follower base.
- Update the gallery’s website with current exhibitions and artist information.
- Respond to messages and inquiries on social platforms in a timely manner.
Gallery Support:
- Welcome and engage with visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Provide information about current exhibitions, artists, and gallery programs.
- Assist with installation and de-installation of exhibitions.
- Support logistics for gallery openings, talks, and special events.
- Help maintain a clean and visually appealing gallery space.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or ongoing studies in Art, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Prior experience in social media management or working in an art / cultural space is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Instagram, Canva, Reels, Stories, etc.
- Good eye for visual aesthetics and storytelling.
- Passion for art, culture, and creative communication.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required.
Preferred Skills:
- Photography / videography experience.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or mobile editing apps.
- Familiarity with gallery systems, such as Artlogic or Artsy, is a bonus.
