- We are hiring a passionate and detail-oriented Sports Journalist (Contract) to produce engaging, accurate, and timely sports content for our digital platforms. The ideal candidate will cover local and international sports, athletes, competitions, and industry developments with originality and journalistic integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, write, and report sports news, features, match reports, and opinion pieces
- Cover major sporting events, athletes, teams, and emerging sports trends
- Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, analysts, and sports professionals
- Generate fresh story ideas that resonate with sports audiences
- Ensure factual accuracy, speed, and editorial quality in all content
- Collaborate with multimedia teams to support video, social, and digital storytelling
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong passion for sports and deep knowledge of major sporting disciplines
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle breaking news
- Strong research, interviewing, and analytical abilities
- Understanding of digital publishing and audience engagement
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field
- Previous experience in sports journalism or sports media is an advantage
