Job Summary: 

  • The role is to focus on ensuring the stability and the seamless functionality of our payment channels.
  • The role involves providing technical assistance to internal teams, troubleshooting and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Good knowledge of Card Management systems and switches
  • Supports card implementation for banks.
  • Good knowledge of HSM.
  • Supports any card related issues with Financial Institutions.
  • Good knowledge of MasterCard, VISA and Verve operations.
  • Manages and run end of day activities on AfriGo Card, MasterCard, VISA and Verve for transactions processing.
  • Responsible for the operation of payment systems by monitoring and supporting of the payment systems and services.
  • Analyse and interpret application logs and resolve identified issues.
  • Provide technical support in identifying, investigating and resolving transaction-related issues.
  • Proactive monitoring of processes and transactions leading to the identification of potential glitches
  • Support UAT of all applications to be deployed.
  • Setup Institutions, merchants, billers on appropriate platforms
  • Review merchant’s onboarding form and contract before they are setup.
  • Ensure that the right MCC is assigned to each merchant and make updates where necessary.
  • Provide technical support to clients during integration on company payments channels/platforms.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or any related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
  • At least three (3) years of related experience is required.
  • Proven experience in a technical support role, preferably in a FinTech or financial services environment.
  • Familiarity with FinTech platforms and technologies. Deep understanding of IT security solutions and market dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of payment systems, financial regulations, and security protocols
  • Understanding of Unix commands and Project Management
