The Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo (formally known as Michael Okpara College of Agriculture, Umuagwo) was established in the year 1978. The Polytechnic is located on 360 hectares of land, donated by the Umuagwo community in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State. Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo established as a monotechnic was finally upgraded to a polytechnic status (Imo State Polytechnic) in 2007. After the upgrade in status, the polytechnic has its first rector in the person of Dr. Eugene EbereOgu. The polytechnic is currently led by Rev. Fr. Dr. WenceMadu. Population of students in the Polytechnic is 11,600.
Requirements
- Minimum of HND in Architecture with good knowledge in:
- Data room, photography, modelling and studio management
- Technological courses.
- Membership of the relevant professional body (e.g., Nigerian Institute of Architects for Architecture) will beanadded advantage.
