Job Summary

  • The Art Director at Echo Africa will be responsible for the visual creative direction of our marketing and branding Campaigns. This role requires a blend of creative vision and hands-on design skills.
  • The Art Director will collaborate closely with copywriters, designers, and other team members to produce compelling and effective visual content that aligns with our clients' branding and marketing goals.

Responsibilities
Creativity:

  • Develop and oversee the visual style and imagery of campaigns, ensuring alignment with client brand guidelines and objectives.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and creative meetings to generate innovative ideas and concepts.

Campaign Management:

  • Manage multiple Campaigns from concept through completion, ensuring Campaigns are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with Campaign managers, account managers, and other team members to ensure clear communication and efficient workflow.

Design Execution:

  • Create high-quality visual content, including layouts, graphics, and illustrations for various media (digital, print, video).
  • Oversee and approve the work of designers, photographers, illustrators, and other creatives.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all visual elements of a campaign.

Client / Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with clients to understand their vision, brand, and objectives.
  • Present creative concepts and strategies to clients, incorporating feedback and making revisions as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and exceptional creative deliverables.

Trend Analysis:

  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Implement new techniques and tools to improve creative processes and outcomes.

Brand Development:

  • Develop brand identities and visual standards for new and existing clients.
  • Ensure all creative output aligns with and enhances the client's brand image.

Required Qualifications / Skill

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in a creative leadership role within an advertising, marketing, or branding agency.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of creative Campaigns and high-quality design work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other design software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple Campaigns simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of branding, marketing, and advertising principles.
  • Knowledge of current design trends and a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience with motion graphics, video editing, and web design.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles.
  • Experience in client-facing roles and ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Passion for creativity and a proactive attitude towards learning and growing.
