Matrix Energy Group is a rapidly growing indigenous and integrated Oil Marketing and Trading Company in Nigeria, with business interest that covers shipping, commodities trading, depot operations, fertilizer blending, and trading, exploration, and haulage services.

JOB PURPOSE

Assists in the implementation of initiatives that boost Matrix Energy Group's brand visibility and engagement with its target audience. This role is also responsible for operational execution of internal and external communications through various media and communication channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of brand collateral such as brochures, presentations, and other promotional materials
  • Ensures that marketing materials and communications adhere to the Matrix Energy Group brand guidelines
  • Assists in the planning and creation of content for various communication channels, including social media, website, newsletters, and press releases
  • Manages the content calendar and schedules posts across different platforms to ensure consistent, timely and appropriate brand image for Matrix Energy
  • Supports the development and implementation of social media strategies in Matrix Energy to enhance brand visibility and engagements
  • Manages and updates Matrix Energy’s social media accounts such as responding to comments and messages
  • Keeps record of social media accounts, privacy and security details
  • Tracks social media metrics and prepares reports to assess the effectiveness of social media campaigns for Matrix Energy Group
  • Assists in the drafting and distribution of press releases to media outlets
  • Monitors media coverage and compiles daily or weekly media reports
  • Assists in organization and management of media events, press conferences, and other public relations activities
  • Assists in the development and distribution of newsletters, emails, and other communication materials to keep Matrix Energy employees informed and engaged
  • Keeps record of and analyses feedback from stakeholders to improve communication strategies in Matrix Energy
  • Assists in the production of annual reports, sustainability reports, and other corporate publications
  • Assists in planning and executing corporate events, conferences, and community engagement activities
  • Research industry trends and market conditions to support strategic decision-making
  • Tracks expenses for branding and communication activities in Matrix Energy Group
  • Coordinates with external vendors and agencies to produce marketing materials and services
  • Maintains records of all communication activities, materials, and correspondences in Matrix Energy Group
  • Ensures that all communications comply with industry regulations and Matrix Energy Group’s policies
  • Performs any other task assigned by the Head, Corporate Services.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
  • Professional certification such as CIM is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in Brands and Communications related roles
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry is an added advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with infographics and graphics design

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Good understanding of industry trends, regulatory changes, challenges, opportunities, legislation, and best practices relating to the Oil & Gas industry
  • Ability to develop and implement brand and communications policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with communication and marketing tools such Adobe Creative Suite and content management systems (CMS)
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for creating press releases, articles, social media posts, and internal communications
  • Strong verbal communication for interacting with media, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Good understanding of brand strategy and ability to maintain brand consistency across all channels
  • Ability to create engaging and relevant content for various platforms
  • Experience in planning, executing, and monitoring marketing and communication campaigns
  • Proficiency in managing social media platforms and understanding social media metrics and analytics
  • Ability to analyze data to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns
  • Basic graphic design skills to create visual content using tools like Adobe Photoshop or Canva
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve brand and communication processes for better efficiency and effectiveness
  • High ethical standards
