Job Summary:

The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of the company, driving technological innovation, and ensuring the efficient operation of all technical functions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the telecoms sector, with a strong preference for those with experience in the towerco space within Nigeria or other emerging markets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the technical strategy aligned with the company’s goals.
  • Lead the technical team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to drive technological improvements.
  • Oversee the maintenance and development of the company's technical infrastructure.
  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of all technical operations.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure the best terms and ensure quality service.
  • Lead the planning and execution of technical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure technical support aligns with business needs.
  • Ensure all technical operations comply with local and international regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance and best practices.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop technical staff to build a high-performing team.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development within the technical team.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in the telecoms sector, with significant leadership experience.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in the towerco space within Nigeria or other emerging markets.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale technical projects.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
