Job summary
The CTO will be in charge of all company technologies and technological resources. The Chief Technological Officer will establish Company Technology mission, vision and plans of growth. They will supervise the system and quality assurance processes. The CTO will focus on maintaining and improving all company technological issues. This role reports to the Managing Partner.
ResponsibilitiesI
- Serve on the executive committee to align technology goals to other departmental and organizational objectives;
- Study current and new industry treads, technologies and software developments.
- Create and implement technology strategies;
- Manage relationships with Partners, vendors and government;
- Build quality assurance and data protection processes;
- Supervise work flow of the IT Department;
- Represent the company at conferences and networking events
- Monitor KPIs and Engineering budgets to assess technological performance;
- Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology;
- Develop and maintain disaster and emergency recovery plans;
- Present reports on the company’s technology status, goals and progress;
- Select and manage employees or outsourced vendors who will implement applications;
- As a member of senior management, establish a customer service and support process; establish a process to integrate customer service and support with the software engineering process to support resolution of customer issues and improve usability;
- Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads, such as Marketing, Finance, Compliance as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness;
- Identify what technologies can be used to improve the company’s products and services;
- Studying information processing systems to evaluate the effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
- Define the development stack, technical roadmap and IT framework in collaboration with Product Managers;
- Assist in recruiting, managing and mentoring a top-class and motivated development team;
- Create a high performance, innovative, collaborative, continuous learning and improving technology culture;
- Develop and direct safeguards to reduce the risk of outside breaches, fraud and compliance;
- Identify competitive advantages and technological trends for the benefit of the company.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role as an Engineering manager or CTO;
- 8 to 10years experience in Software Engineering, with at least 5 years in a Managerial/supervisory role;
- B.Sc. Computer Science, Information technology or related field; Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Must have completed the compulsory NYSC program;
- Experience of building large backend solutions / Architect;
- Experience in building web and mobile applications;
- Indebt understanding of the industry and technology relative to industry.
