MKOBO Microfinance Bank Limited is a fully licensed MFB by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). MKOBO was conceived to help solve consumers’ need for access to short-term emergency credit. Our goal is to provide access to short term unsecured loans, which is easily accessible. We cater to the demography currently underserved by the Commercial banks in our aim to help increase financial inclusion of the Nigerian population. At MKOBO we have always worked a little differently to other short-term loan providers. we do not require any collateral or guarantor in most cases and we will always offer support when our customers tell us they need a helping hand.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (highly preferred).
  • Proven track record of leading high-growth technology teams in the FinTech industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and scaling FinTech platforms at a similar scale.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms, DevOps methodologies, and Agile development practices.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
  • A proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

You Are:

  • A transformational technology leader with a minimum of 15 years of experience in building and scaling secure and reliable FinTech platforms.
  • Proven track record of driving disruptive innovation and achieving significant user growth within the FinTech space.
  • Deep understanding of the entire FinTech technology stack, including mobile banking, payments, core banking systems, cloud infrastructure, and data security.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Digital Ocean) and a strong grasp of DevOps methodologies and Agile development practices.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into a clear and achievable technology roadmap
  • A passionate advocate for data security and regulatory compliance, ensuring the highest standards are met
  • An inspiring and collaborative leader with the ability to build and manage a high-performing, diverse engineering team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effectively bridging the gap between technology and business stakeholders.
  • A champion for financial inclusion, driven to leverage technology to empower individuals and businesses across Africa.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Oversee all aspects of technology, including software development, infrastructure management, information security, and data management.
  • Foster a culture of innovation within the engineering team, encouraging exploration of new technologies and solutions.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent, building a best-in-class technology team.
  • Manage technology budgets and resources effectively, optimizing costs and maximizing ROI.
  • Partner with other departments (Product, Marketing, Operations) to ensure seamless integration of technology across all functions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in FinTech and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for competitive advantage.
  • Lead the technology initiatives for the company's expansion into new African markets
