Position Overview

  • This is a full-time role for a Chief Information Technology Officer at NovaOnda Technologies Limited.
  • The role is located on-site in Ikate, Lekki. The Chief Information Technology Officer will be responsible for overseeing the IT operations and strategies, managing the IT department, and ensuring the infrastructure is robust and secure.
  • Day-to-day tasks include developing and implementing IT strategies, managing IT projects, overseeing the IT budget, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • In addition, the Chief Information Technology Officer will be expected to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the company.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement the organization’s IT and digital transformation strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
  • Advise the executive team and board on emerging technologies, risks, and opportunities.
  • Drive innovation to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and competitive advantage.

Technology & Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of technology platforms.
  • Lead enterprise-wide system upgrades, integrations, and modernization initiatives.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management:

  • Establish and enforce robust cybersecurity policies, protocols, and compliance frameworks.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technology-related risks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, data privacy laws, and industry standards.

Data & Analytics:

  • Champion data governance, integrity, and accessibility across the organization.
  • Leverage data analytics and business intelligence to support decision-making and performance measurement.
  • Drive initiatives that transform data into actionable insights.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage vendor relationships and strategic technology partnerships.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven track record (10+ years) in senior IT leadership roles, ideally as CIO, CTO, or equivalent.
  • Strong expertise in IT strategy, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale technology initiatives and managing complex IT environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in IT governance and security.

  • Core Banking & Financial Systems (Temenos, Oracle FLEXCUBE, Finacle, FIS)
  • Cybersecurity & Data Protection (encryption, threat management, compliance)
  • IT Infrastructure & Network Management (virtualization, disaster recovery, ITIL)
  • Data Analytics & Business Intelligence (Power BI, SQL, Python, AI/ML integration)
  • RegTech & Compliance Systems (KYC, AML, PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOX)
  • Digital Transformation & Automation (RPA, cloud migration, DevOps)
  • Fintech Integration & API Management (open banking, third-party integration)
  • Project & Portfolio Management Tools (Agile, Jira, MS Project, P6)
  • Blockchain & Emerging Technologies (DLT, smart contracts, digital assets)
