The Opportunity:
- The Data Centre Colocation Lead position will lead the daily colocation operations of the Data Centre.
- You will assist the site operations team with operational goals and projects, ensuring delivery of high-quality services to our customers, meeting service level agreements, and resolving to document issues.
- You will lead the colocation service level metrics for delivery, problem escalation/resolution processes, and performance monitoring.
- The ability to work a flexible and prolonged off-hours schedule for planned and unplanned work and will do standby and call-out services when required.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead site colocation operations and network aspects of the data centre using world-class principles and industry best practices.
- Support procedures for maintaining high standards of operations, product and service quality, reliability, and safety.
- Assist in the implementation of processes and procedures.
- Lead productivity and quality in accordance with the company’s requirements and direction.
- Lead all aspects of site infrastructure including the installation and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist in the implementation of necessary backup and recovery technologies through SOPs/EOPs.
- Leading colocation risk mitigation processes.
- Lead all site incidents to ensure prompt, efficient response and resolution.
- Lead capacity planning in Data Halls and IT infrastructure.
- Lead the colocation environment end-to-end to monitor the reliability and stability of the products and solutions deployed for each service with proactive tuning and improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date capacity-related data as well as projections for available space, bandwidth, storage, and networking to ensure proper mitigation is implemented proactively with proper planning, budgeting, and execution timelines.
- Evaluate and promote site-wide quality improvements and initiatives.
- Directly responsible for site planned and reactive colocation activities.
- Directly responsible for the supervision of 3rd party suppliers working on mission-critical equipment.

Your Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Information Technology related discipline.
- Technical certification CDCP
- CCNA / A+ / N+; MCSE or other relevant certification advantageous.
- ITIL Certification.
- Mission-critical plant knowledge.
- Data centre facilities experience.
- 5+ years' experience in technology,
- 3 years’ experience in data centre network and IT services.
- 2 years’ experience in building facility services.
- 3 years’ experience with mission-critical electrical/mechanical plants.
- 2 years’ working experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
- 5 years’ working experience in mission-critical systems.
Your knowledge.
- Expert knowledge of Data Centre colocation operations, and capacity planning.
- Expert knowledge of monitoring technology environments and solving availability, performance, and service level incidents.
- Expert knowledge of both fibre and copper connectivity.
- Knowledge of electrical systems 0-11KV.
- Knowledge of Mechanical systems including HVAC.
- Knowledge of Power Generation Systems.
- Knowledge of Building Fire Systems.
- Knowledge of BMS and Monitoring Systems.
- Knowledge of Regulatory and Statutory requirements.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements respective to your site and country.
- Knowledge of Environmental Requirements respective to your site and country.
- Knowledge of MS Projects and other related Office 365 Packages.
- Other Responsibilities
- Leading the Permit to Work system in the colocation environment.
- Standby for emergencies after hours.
- Assisting the project and building teams with colocation-related items.
- Assisting with budget activities and procurement within company guidelines.
- Ensure the Data Centre is continually ready for customer visits.
- Produce reports as required by management.
- Keep all records up to date and secure in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
- Complete training in H&S, fire prevention and/or first aid.
- Internal systems strategy and maintenance.
- Contractor and Supplier supervision.
