Role Overview
- As the Communications Manager - Content and Engagement, you will spearhead our internal and external communication strategies focused on creating engaging video content, managing our WhatsApp content strategy, and orchestrating events to strengthen relationships with government partners and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that includes creating short explainer videos, user interviews, and promotional materials to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
- Film and produce content showcasing users receiving certificates and awards, highlighting the impact and recognition of top users.
- Design and implement a rewards plan from a marketing perspective to enhance user engagement and loyalty.
- Manage and optimise content delivery on WhatsApp, ensuring alignment with our communication objectives and audience preferences.
- Plan and organise 2-3 events per year in Abuja, focusing on government partnerships and awards ceremonies to celebrate impact and achievements.
- Collaborate with graphic designers and the wider Elephant team to create visually appealing marketing materials.
- Stay current with the latest trends in social media and content creation, particularly on platforms like TikTok, to ensure our content remains relevant and engaging.
Skills, attributes and experience

Essential:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a communications or content creation role, with a proven track record of successful content strategy and execution.
- Expertise in video production, including planning, filming, and editing, tailored for platforms like TikTok.
- Strong understanding of content marketing and digital communication strategies, including experience managing WhatsApp-based content.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Creative thinker with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desired:
- Experience organising corporate events, particularly involving senior stakeholders
- A background in the healthcare industry would be advantageous, but is not essential
- Demonstrable experience of understanding market needs and user engagement strategies
- Proficiency in additional local languages is highly advantageous
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field from a recognised university.
