Position/Role Overview:

  • We seek to hire a motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Community and Communications Coordinator. In this role, the Community and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for managing our Yaba and Magodo communities by fostering community engagement, managing communications channels, and promoting our organization's initiatives to various stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of community dynamics, and experience in coordinating events and outreach programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement:

  • Develop and implement strategies to foster a sense of belonging among our community members
  • Plan and coordinate community events, meetings, and workshops.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community members, partners, and relevant organizations.

Communications Management:

  • Manage communication channels including social media platforms, newsletters, and website content.
  • Coordinate the Comms team to create engaging content such as graphics content, Social media , and multimedia materials.
  • Ensure prompt response to online conversations and inquiries .

Promotion and Outreach:

  • Promote our organization's initiatives, programs, and events through various social media platforms.
  • Develop and distribute promotional materials online to increase awareness and participation for all 8thGear programs and events..

Data Management and Analysis:

  • Collect and analyze data related to community engagement and communications effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to share insights and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field.
  • Between 2-3 years experience in community engagement, communications, or a related role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and content creation software.
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques and tools is a plus.
  • Passion for community development and social impact.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in CRM (Zoho) and Google collaborative tools.

Working Arrangement:

  • Physical presence is required at Secretariat/Magodo, Lagos, for at least the first three months of probation.
  • Additional employee benefits upon confirmation. A hybrid work arrangement is negotiable post-confirmation, based on defined targets and objectives.
