The Hub also network stakeholders from diverse walks of life to create these solutions and also encourage social accountability through social creativity activating knowledge networks harnessing resources and imagination across society not just within public service professions and institutions
Job Description
We seek a passionate and strategic Community and Communications Associate to join our Design for Health practice. You will play a vital role in building and engaging a vibrant community of stakeholders while amplifying the reach and impact of our initiatives. Through your creative content, strong communication skills, and effective delivery of impactful tailored programs, you will help elevate the visibility of Design for Health and connect with key partners across public and private sectors to advance public health solutions.
Responsibilities:
Community Building and Engagement:
- Support the development and implementation of strategic plans to build, grow, and engage our online and offline communities of practice (CoPs) membership.
- Manage online platforms and communication channels to ensure effective information dissemination and community interaction.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and potential partners, such as NGOs, government agencies, and private sector organizations.
Animate the Communities of Practice
- Support in developing and implementing tailored programs for the different categories of community members such as the DFH Investors program, and Health Tech start-up product showcase among others
- Oversee CcHUB’s community engagement and program planning.
- Facilitate active participation and networking opportunities within the CoPs, fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Content Creation and Storytelling:
- Support the development of compelling content (e.g., blog posts, case studies, social media posts) that showcases the work of Design for Health’s Community of Practice and its impact on public health.
- Craft engaging presentations and reports to communicate key findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.
- Ensure clear, accurate, and up-to-date information is presented on the Design for Health website
Communications and Media Relations:
- Develop and implement communication strategies to amplify the reach and visibility of Design for Health initiatives in relevant media channels.
- Maintain positive relationships with journalists and media outlets to secure coverage for our work.
- Draft press releases, media pitches, and other communication materials for public dissemination.
Event Management and Outreach:
- Organise and manage workshops, webinars, and other events to connect with and engage the Design for Health community and wider public health stakeholders.
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to attract new members and partners to the CoPs and other Design for Health initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communication, public health, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in community management, communications, or a relevant field.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communication strategies.
- Strong content creation and storytelling skills, with experience in writing engaging content for various audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working with start-up innovators

- Experience in online community management and communication platforms.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
