JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Conduct market research to identify new movie titles, trends, and emerging filmmakers.
- Analyze industry data, sales reports, and audience preferences to inform acquisition decisions.
- Screen and evaluate movie submissions, including feature films, documentaries, and short films.
- Supervise the Content Acquisition Assistants to assess the commercial potential and fit of potential acquisitions.
- Build and maintain relationships with filmmakers, producers, agents, and content providers.
- Attend film festivals, industry events, and screenings to network and discover new talent and content opportunities.
- Provide support and advice to Executive Management on content acquisition and licensing operations as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Higher National Diploma in Film Studies, Theater Arts, Media, or in a related field.
- 3-year proven experience in Content Review and Acquisition role.
- Professional qualifications, certifications, and memberships are an added advantage.
- Proficient in the use of Google Workspace.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in content acquisition, film distribution, or a related role is required.
- Strong knowledge of the film industry, market trends, and distribution channels.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Excellent time management and organization skills.
- Ability to work with minimal or zero supervision.
