Role Summary
- We are seeking a sharp, analytical, and eager-to-learn Entry-Level Network Support Engineer. This role is the foundation of our network operations, providing first-line support and ensuring the stability and performance of our clients' network infrastructures. The ideal candidate must be a recent graduate with a strong academic record, a passion for technology, and a desire to build a career in the field of networking.
Key Qualifications & Mandatory Requirements
- Academic Excellence: A minimum of a Second Class Upper (2:1) Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly related field.
- Geographical Requirement: Must currently reside within the Lekki Axis (Lekki Phase 1, Phase 2, Victoria Garden City (VGC), Ajah, Sangotedo, Lakowe, or immediate environs). This is mandatory to ensure a timely response for on-site support requirements.
- Technical Foundation: A solid theoretical understanding of networking fundamentals from your degree program.
- Certifications (A strong advantage): Any of the following certifications, or demonstrable progress towards them, is a significant plus:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- CompTIA Network+
- Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA-Junos)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support for network-related incidents and service requests via phone, email, and our ticketing system.
- Perform basic network monitoring, proactively identifying and escalating potential issues.
- Assist with the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic network connectivity issues for end-users (wired and wireless).
- Document network problems and their resolutions in our knowledge base.
- Work closely with senior network engineers on projects and complex problem resolution.
- Perform routine network checks and updates as directed.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Technical Knowledge: Strong theoretical grasp of the OSI and TCP/IP models, IP addressing/subnetting, VLANs, and core networking protocols.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Initiative & Learning: A proactive, self-starter attitude with a strong desire to learn new technologies and grow professionally.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Resilience: Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
