Brave Achievers is a non-profit organization that is tackling two major tech problems: Shortage of technical applications and product designers, and lack of racial and gender diversity in design tech.

Position Overview: 

  • We are looking for a talented and experienced Grant Writer to join our team at Brave Achievers.
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully securing grants from various sources, including government agencies, private foundations, and corporations.
  • This role requires exceptional writing skills, the ability to find grants, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate our mission and programs to potential funders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Research and Identification: Identify and research potential grant opportunities that align with Brave Achievers’ mission, programs, and strategic goals.
  • Proposal Writing: Write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals, letters of intent, and supporting documents.
  • Grant Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective grant-seeking strategies, including prioritizing grant opportunities and establishing timelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with program staff, financial officers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for proposals.
  • Grant Management: Maintain a comprehensive calendar of grant deadlines, ensure timely submission of proposals, and track the status of pending applications.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit grant reports and ensure compliance with grant requirements and guidelines.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential funders through effective communication and stewardship.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing, with a proven track record of securing grants.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Familiarity with grant databases and funding sources.
