About the job
- We are searching for Fiber Optic Technicians to handle the tasks of troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining Fiber optic cables and systems, as well as providing technical assistance in the designing and testing of Fiber optics in our Ajah and Lekki Zones.
- The ideal candidates will be able to ensure that all cabling is connected properly to prevent any data loss or failed connections and to perform routine inspections to ensure construction and other operations do not disrupt or damage our Fiber optic system.
Responsibilities
- Perform cable installation, construction, maintenance, and repair works as well as issues resolution.
- Possess knowledge in all types of splicing activity, cable and safety test equipment and use of all types of cable construction equipment, as well as the rectification of Fiber optic problem areas.
- Locate and repair cables faults to maintain existing cable network without causing signal failure interruptions.
- Validate and test end-to-end service provisioning for the cable network.
- Confirm accurate cable terminations on cross connect, patch panels, hubs, and routers.
- Review site surveys, condition discrepancy reports, design drawings, technical manuals for cable installation feasibility.
- Understand construction prints and splice schematics.
- Develop sensor indicators and conduct timely inspections, so that a faulty Fiber optic system does not destabilize its performance.
- Maintain project tracing information such as production sheets, time sheets, and customer required paperwork.
- Formulate and maintain system records and system designs.
- Maintain safe and secure work environment by complying with Government standards and legal regulations.

Education and Experience
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Fiber Optic Technician.
