The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is one of the world's leading research partners in finding solutions for hunger, malnutrition, and poverty. DUTIES:
- Carry out black Sigatoka, weevil and nematode field sampling, sample processing and data collection.
- Assist with maintenance of pathology checks in trials in the laboratory, screen house and field.
- Assist with planting materials propagation for pest and disease evaluation trials.
- Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION:
- O’level with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.
COMPETENCIES:
The ideal candidate must:
- Have experience in field data collection, field and screen house trails and the planting materials propagation.
- Have good communication skills (writing, reading, and speaking).
- Have the ability to use basic Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Have excellent interpersonal and multi-tasking skills and work under pressure to meet deadlines with keen attention to detail.
- Be trustworthy and diligent to work with little or no supervision.
- Have a positive attitude and strong team spirit.
