Consumer Advocacy and Empowerment Foundation (CADEF) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment, protection, emancipation, and enlightenment of consumers in Nigeria. Our pursuit is to increase awareness and defend consumer rights, through rigorous research and policy analysis on key consumer issues, advocacy, education, and legal representation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Content Creation across Platforms:
- Come up with ideas and create attractive visual content for various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X formally Twitter) while taking intaccount the preferences of the audience and the specific best practices of each platform. For example, create eye-catching infographics for Twitter and design product carousels for Instagram.
- Produce high-quality graphics for print materials such as brochures, flyers, and posters tensure clear communication and consistent branding. For instance, design a compelling layout for brochures and create visually appealing event posters.
- Transform website wireframes and mockups intuser-friendly web pages with visually pleasing designs, while adhering twebsite accessibility guidelines. This could involve designing herimages for landing pages and creating clear and functional icons and buttons.
Campaign & Material Development:
- Creating eye-catching graphics for advocacy campaigns that effectively convey the intended message. This can include designing social media graphics and animations for product launches as well as creating email newsletter banners.
- Crafting visually appealing presentation slides that are informative.
- Converting advocacy objectives intvisually engaging materials that raise awareness and motivate action. This may involve designing infographics that highlight the organization's impact and creating social media graphics.
Collaboration & Deliverables
- Clearly explain design ideas and concepts tteam members. Use their feedback timprove the designs.
- Make sure design materials are high quality, delivered on time, and within budget. For example, make print-ready brochures and social media graphics in the correct size and format.
Brand Alignment & Project Management
- Understand the organization's mission, brand identity, and visual style guidelines. For example, study brand style guides and get tknow the organization's mission statement.
- Make sure all design work fits with the organization's brand voice and visual identity, keeping things the same across all platforms. For example, always use the organization's approved colors and fonts in all designs.
- Manage multiple design projects well, decide which tasks are most important, and meet deadlines. For example, use project management tools.
Additional Creative Areas
- Creating short, animated videos or GIFs for social media platforms, product demonstrations, or explainer videos.
- Developing animated elements for websites or interactive presentations tenhance user engagement.
- Utilizing animation software such as Adobe After Effects or Premiere Prtbring designs tlife.
- Creating custom typography or hand-lettering for unique and visually appealing designs.
- Using illustration software like Adobe Illustrator or Procreate tproduce high-quality artwork.
- Capturing images or videos for design projects, such as product photography or event coverage.
- Editing and retouching photos tenhance visual appeal.
- Using photography and videography equipment tcapture high-quality visuals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Graphic Designer with a strong portfoliof design work.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar design software.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in a non-profit organization or for social causes.
- Familiarity with web design and basic HTML/CSS is a plus.
- Ability tcreate engaging and effective designs for diverse audiences.
