Reports To: Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of IT to lead the technology function across all facets of our tobacco manufacturing operations. This role is critical to driving digital transformation, ensuring IT infrastructure resilience, and aligning technology solutions with business objectives in a highly regulated and performance-driven industry. The ideal candidate will have robust experience in both manufacturing and FMCG environments, with a proven ability to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the organization’s IT strategy, aligned with corporate goals, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Lead and manage the IT department, overseeing all aspects of infrastructure, networks, systems, cybersecurity, ERP platforms, and business applications.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency, data accuracy, and business intelligence.
  • Ensure system uptime and business continuity by overseeing IT service delivery, disaster recovery planning, and incident response processes.
  • Manage the implementation and ongoing optimization of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), supporting finance, manufacturing, logistics, and HR operations.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives, including automation, smart factory integrations, IoT, and data analytics to support agile manufacturing.
  • Maintain strict compliance with industry regulations and internal IT governance policies, including data privacy, cybersecurity, and audit requirements.
  • Oversee IT budgeting, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Drive continuous improvement in IT service delivery by monitoring KPIs and user satisfaction metrics.
  • Mentor and develop the internal IT team, fostering a high-performance and innovation-driven culture.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA or MSc IT) is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years in a senior IT leadership role.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing and FMCG industries is essential; tobacco industry experience is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure, ERP implementations, cybersecurity, and cloud solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and large-scale digital initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry compliance standards, such as ISO, NIST, etc.
  • Strong vendor management, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
