Head, Technical Operations at IpNX Nigeria Limited

ipNX Nigeria Limited is a leading provider of infrastructure-based Telecommunications and Information Technology services here in Nigeria. Leveraging more than a decade of experience, the company was formed by the divestment of the telecommunications services division of Telnet Nigeria Limited and has been in operation for many years. ipNX currently provides a range of communications and IT services to Corporate organizations within Nigeria on its IP (Internet Protocol) based communications network using both radio and satellite communications technologies. As part of its growth strategy, ipNX seeks to also extend its services to small and medium sized businesses and residential customers. In the long term, ipNX has determined that it needs also to have a strategic presence in the wire line market to ensure that we will be able to provide future services, which require high bandwidth in the last mile.

Purpose

  • Lead the long-term technical strategy for the business division, overseeing network design, optimization, security, service delivery, and program management. Develop team capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage 24x7 technical infrastructure operations and availability.
  • Lead IT infrastructure services team, setting goals, prioritizing projects, and managing budgets.
  • Define overall mission of the infrastructure services team.
  • Provide operational support for network operations and technical assistance center.
  • Develop and articulate IT strategies and vision to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT and business leaders to implement strategic plans for IT infrastructure.
  • Design scalable, fault-tolerant network architecture for corporate clients.
  • Manage technical operations, setting strategic direction and objectives.
  • Lead technology infrastructure implementation and operation.
  • Support internal technical operations and projects.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics for technical operations.
  • Maximize operational efficiency and drive cost reduction.
  • Demonstrate leadership in team development and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (2.2/Upper Credit Minimum).
  • Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
  • ITIL and PMP certifications desirable.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated operational excellence and problem-solving abilities.
  • 15+ years of experience in network and infrastructure operations.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical operations management.
  • Experience in Agile project management and large-scale system architecture.
  • Customer-focused, tech-savvy, results-driven mindset.
