Job Summary:

  • The HR Data Analytics Specialist will support the HR department in driving data-informed decision-making by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting HR metrics. This role involves developing dashboards, generating reports, and providing actionable insights to improve employee engagement, retention, and organizational performance. The specialist will ensure compliance with data protection regulations and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR strategies and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, validate, and maintain HR data related to employee demographics, performance, attrition, and engagement.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by conducting regular audits and implementing quality control measures.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to maintain secure and efficient HR data storage systems.
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that can guide HR strategies.
  • Develop comprehensive dashboards and reports for HR metrics, including attrition rates, time-to-hire, employee engagement, and succession planning.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to HR leadership for improving recruitment, retention, and employee satisfaction.
  • Conduct predictive analytics to forecast workforce trends and support workforce planning.
  • Assist in identifying skills gaps and developing training programs based on analytics.
  • Support compensation and benefits benchmarking through market data analysis.
  • Ensure all HR data analytics activities comply with data protection regulations and company policies.
  • Safeguard sensitive employee information and maintain confidentiality in data handling.
  • Work closely with HR sub-units (Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, and HR Operations) to align analytics with organizational goals.
  • Partner with department heads to understand their data needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Conduct training sessions for HR staff on using analytics tools and interpreting data.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data analytics, preferably in an HR setting.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, SQL, and statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Python, R).
  • Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems (ATS).

Core Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Familiarity with HR metrics such as turnover rates, time-to-hire, and employee engagement.
  • Understanding of Nigerian labor laws and compliance requirements (for local adaptation).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Accuracy and timeliness of HR reports and dashboards.
  • Reduction in time-to-hire through analytics-driven process improvements.
  • Improved retention rates based on actionable insights.
  • Successful implementation of predictive analytics projects.
