Information Technology Coordinator - Power Apps at Save The Children

We're helping to improve health systems in northern Nigeria to delivery maternal, newborn, and child health services, including the revival of routine immunization.

SCOPE OF ROLE: 

  • Reports to: Information Security and Technology Manager.
  • Staff directly reporting to this post: None, unless during an operational request, with the Nigeria IT team.
  • Budget responsibility: None.

DURATION:

  • One year, with possibility of extension.

The IT Coordinator will be accountable on the following key areas in SCI Nigeria

App Development/Business Process Automation

  • Build, Develop Apps using Power Platform – these include in house apps like Recruitment planner, Communications allowance system, Local transport request system, Program Operations report dashboard, accommodation request system for admin, Feedback mechanism report system – and others from different units and departments.
  • Improve existing Apps Using Power Platform.
  • Maintain, Debug and resolve issues with existing apps using Power Platform.
  • Build Power BI dashboards and integrate them into existing datasets.
  • Train the in-country IT team on the use of built apps.
  • Applying Power Apps including an in-depth understanding of customization, configuration integration, and extensibility, as well as boundaries and constraints.
  • Assisting in collecting and identifying functional requirements.
  • Raising the causes of bugs or potential issues of the product.
  • Being adept at leveraging new approaches to solutions for system design and functionality.
  • Addressing and remediating security vulnerability findings in Power Apps.
  • Working directly with client to support various projects and solutions.
  • Responsible for developing Power Apps model and canvas driven apps.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to understand client pain points and troubleshoot as challenges arise.
  • Installation and configuration of data gateways.
  • Development of Azure logic apps and functions and Power BI dashboard development.
  • Provide architecture, configuration, administration and functional support to expand capabilities in Microsoft 365.
  • Design end to end solutions that improve collaboration, productivity and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify areas and processes where Microsoft 365, Office 365 and SharePoint can be better leveraged and facilitates process improvement.

Safeguarding 

  • Support SCI team in the safe use of SCI assets, systems and connectivity. 
  • Adhere to the Do no Harm principles across the entire steps of system design and delivery.

Other

  • Other requests as determined by the IST manager.
  • Provide support to the Nigeria IT team during an operational request, Data Analysis using Microsoft Power BI, security experience.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFCATIONS AND SKILLS

Essential:

  • Degree in Computer Science or other IT related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience with at least three years demonstrated experience building apps/automating processes using power apps and power automate.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Office 365 development utilizing PowerApps, Flow, and Power BI, Teams and SharePoint Online -3.
  • At least 1 year in Server and Active Directory Management and Power platform development.
  • Proven ability to collecting and identifying functional requirements.
  • Demonstrate ability to raise the causes of bugs or potential issues of the product.
  • Being adept at leveraging new approaches to solutions for system design and functionality.
  • Addressing and remediating security vulnerability findings in PowerApps.
  • Work directly with clients to support various projects and solutions.
  • Responsible for developing PowerApps model and canvas driven apps.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to understand client pain points and troubleshoot as challenges arise.
  • Installation and configuration of data gateways.
  • Development of Azure logic apps and functions and Power BI development.
  • Provide architecture, configuration, administration and functional support to expand capabilities in Microsoft 365.
  • Design end to end solutions that improve collaboration, productivity and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify areas and processes where Microsoft 365, Office 365, and SharePoint can be better leveraged and facilitate process improvement.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, including the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously; have strong interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people.

Desirable:

  • Certification in one or more of Microsoft Power platform / Power Automate RPA Developer /Solutions Architect. 
  • Microsoft Certified Power BI analyst.
  • Ability to coach and teams. 
  • Master’s degree in ICT4D or related fields.
