Medicaid Radio-Diagnostic Center is a wholly indigenous company that was established in 2009 and is dedicated to improving the standard of diagnostic services in Nigeria. Medicaid Radio-Diagnostic centre is the first of its kind private facility located in the heart of Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria and is born out of a passion to be the forerunner in the provision of radiological and diagnostic services. We are supported by an International team and offer advanced imaging technology at an affordable price. All our equipment are sourced new from leading manufactuers such as Hitachi and GE. Medicaid is also the pioneer telemedicine facility in Nigeria. We are linked with partners all over the world to keep ourselves up to date and reliable at all times. The centre is a "stand alone” centre that will provide support for both private and public hospitals, thereby taking the huge burden of investing in high-tech radiological facilities off the average hospital. By investing heavily in modern imaging equipment (all brand new machines), IT, and highly skilled personnel, we will deliver the best clinical outcomes that can be benchmarked against international standards.

About the Role

  • Medicaid Radio-Diagnostics & Clinics is seeking a hands-on, dependable Information Technology (IT) Officer to support and maintain all IT systems that enable quality diagnostics and clinical services. You will ensure smooth day-to-day operations across our departments (Radiology/Imaging, Laboratory, Front Desk, Billing, Clinic services), with a strong focus on system uptime, user support, data security, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support & Service Desk

  • Provide first-line and second-line technical support to staff across departments (hardware, software, printers, scanners, email, user accounts).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly, escalating where necessary and documenting resolutions.
  • Maintain an IT helpdesk log, track recurring issues, and implement preventive fixes.

Health IT Systems (Clinical & Diagnostic Operations)

  • Support core systems used in diagnostics and clinics, including:
  • PACS/RIS workflow support (image storage/retrieval, user access, reporting workflow, workstation configuration).
  • EMR/HMIS support (user setup, access control, system uptime, training, basic reporting).
  • Laboratory Information System (LIS) support where applicable (result entry, printing, integration issues).
  • Support device connectivity for imaging modalities (e.g., ultrasound, X-ray, CT/MRI where applicable) and ensure smooth workstation performance.
  • Assist with data exports, backups, and integrity checks for reporting and audit needs.

Networking & Infrastructure

  • Maintain and monitor network infrastructure (routers, switches, access points, cabling, internet links) across the facility.
  • Ensure reliable connectivity for front desk operations, reporting rooms, consultants’ workstations, and administrative units.
  • Support CCTV systems, biometric/access control systems, VoIP/telephony (if applicable), and shared drives.

Cybersecurity, Privacy & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce basic cybersecurity practices: antivirus/endpoint protection, patching, password policies, role-based access, and device security.
  • Support patient data privacy by ensuring secure access, safe file sharing, and proper handling of sensitive information.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity and support incident reporting/response when required.

Systems Administration & Documentation

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets (computers, printers, UPS, network devices, licenses).
  • Document SOPs for common IT processes (password resets, system onboarding, backup routines, workstation setup).

Vendor & Partner Coordination

  • Liaise with vendors and service providers for maintenance, licenses, internet services, and specialized clinical system support.
  • Support procurement recommendations for IT equipment and software, including budget-friendly alternatives.

Continuous Improvement

  • Train staff on basic IT use, cybersecurity awareness, and best practices for efficiency.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to digitize workflows, reduce downtime, and improve patient experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of OND/HND/BSc in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years experience in IT support/administration (healthcare setting is a strong advantage).
  • Strong practical knowledge of:
  • Windows OS, basic server concepts, networking fundamentals
  • Hardware troubleshooting and office productivity tools
  • Backups, antivirus/endpoint security, patch management
  • Excellent communication skills, customer service mindset, and ability to work under pressure.

Added Advantage (Nice-to-Have)

  • Experience supporting healthcare systems like PACS/RIS/EMR/HMIS/LIS.
  • Knowledge of data security and privacy standards for healthcare.
  • Basic knowledge of imaging workflows (radiology reporting, image archiving, workstation setups).
  • Experience with CCTV/access control systems.
