- The IT Officer is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to the organization's information technology systems. The IT Officer will troubleshoot technical issues, implement IT policies and procedures, and support end-users in utilizing IT resources effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users regarding computer hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, network devices, and other IT infrastructure components.
- Monitor the performance of IT systems and networks, identifying and resolving any issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
- Implement and enforce IT security measures to protect the organization's data, systems, and networks from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of IT projects and initiatives, such as software upgrades, system migrations, and infrastructure expansions.
- Conduct regular backups of data and ensure data integrity and availability.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide training and technical guidance to end-users on the use of IT systems, software applications, and security best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the IT industry, making recommendations for improvements and enhancements to existing systems and processes.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to understand their IT needs and requirements, and provide solutions and support accordingly.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, manuals, and guides related to IT systems, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in IT audits and compliance assessments, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) are a plus.
- Proven experience working in IT or a similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking protocols, and software applications.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues and implementing solutions in a timely manner.
- Familiarity with IT security principles, practices, and tools, including firewalls, antivirus software, encryption, and access controls.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with end-users, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
