Job Overview
The IT Quality Assurance (QA) Officer will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of the organization’s software applications and systems. The role involves designing, executing, and documenting test plans, identifying issues, and collaborating with development teams to ensure robust software delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in software testing, automation, and database queries, along with excellent documentation skills to support high-quality IT systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute manual and automated test plans for applications and systems
- Perform functional, regression, performance, and load testing
- Identify, document, and track software defects and issues
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to resolve technical problems
- Conduct performance testing using tools like JMeter
- Execute API testing with tools such as Postman
- Write and maintain automated tests using Cypress
- Validate data integrity and system functionality using SQL queries
- Maintain comprehensive QA documentation, including test cases, results, and reports
- Participate in agile development cycles and provide quality feedback
Technical Competencies
- Proficiency in Java for automation testing
- Experience with Cypress, JMeter, and Postman
- Strong knowledge of SQL for data validation and testing
- Ability to design and maintain test scripts and automation frameworks
- Excellent documentation skills for creating test plans, cases, and reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Relevant certifications in QA or software testing (e.g., ISTQB) are an advantage
