Background
- We are seeking an experienced IT System Administrator to manage and maintain our computer systems and networks, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Objective
- The IT System Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
- The goal is to ensure efficient and secure IT operations to support the organization's mission and activities.
Scope of Work
The IT System Administrator will perform the following tasks:
System Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware.
- Manage network servers and technology tools.
- Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability.
Network Management:
- Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, routers, switches, etc.).
- Implement security measures to protect the network from threats.
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support and training to staff.
- Respond to IT issues, hardware maintenance, and software upgrades.
- Create and maintain documentation for IT systems and procedures.
Security Management:
- Implement and monitor security protocols and measures.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
Project Management:
- Plan and execute IT projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve IT services.
Vendor Management:
- Coordinate with vendors for IT-related procurements and services.
- Manage contracts and relationships with external IT service providers.
Reporting and Communication:
- The IT System Administrator will report to Office Administrator and will provide regular updates on IT operations, issues, and project progress
- They will also collaborate with other departments to ensure IT needs are met across the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 1 - 3 years proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.
- Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac OS).
- Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using WordPress for website management and maintenance
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus.
