Junior Communications Officer at The People Practice

Our client in the healthcare industry is looking to hire a Junior Communications Officer who will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of the communication and PR strategy of the organization. This role involves implementing a diverse range of business and marketing communications, managing social media inquiries, developing and implementing communication policies, monitoring inventory of branded materials, and actively engaging with the press. The Junior Communications Officer will also assist in the Corporate Communications editorial plan, manage websites and social media handles, and play a pivotal role in event management and vendor relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of the communication and PR strategies of the organization.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for engagement and influence by keeping abreast with developments relevant to key stakeholders and partners.
  • Monitor and respond to enquiries sent to the organization's social media handles and email enquiries account
  • Monitor inventory of branded office collaterals and the purchasing of new materials with attention to budgetary constraints
  • Seek new methods and creative strategies to raise internal and external awareness of key organization's events and changes, such as the introduction of new programs, special events, local and global community initiatives, and other topics of interest.
  • Liaise with media representatives to enhance the organization's public image.
  • Assists in the management of the Corporate Communications editorial plan and calendar, working with different departments across the organization.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by relevant stakeholders.
  • Assists in the management of websites and social media handles
  • Event management and vendor relation

 

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years minimum experience and Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or any related field
  • Excellent computer proficiency in MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook, Canva and other design applications.
  • Proficiency in writing, editing and distributing various types of content, including material for a website, press releases, marketing material and other types of content that take the message to the public.
  • Knowledge of social media strategies and best industry practices
  • Strong project management skills

Must have skills

  • Excellent research, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Ability to carry out other duties and tasks as assigned.
