Job Summary
As a Junior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure to support a variety of projects. Primarily responsible for monitoring all network links, VPN connections, and network device license renewals. You will be collaborating with other team members to sustain network solutions in a cross-functional environment that combines interoperable systems, applications, and platforms. Also offer network support to users, staff members, clients, or suppliers.
Job Details
- Monitoring and managing the day-to-day operation of the Network infrastructure, ensuring that all network events are handled appropriately.
- Monitoring of all ISP network connections and VPN links uptime and downtime using the Zabbix network monitoring tool.
- Monitor network devices (switches, routers & firewall) resource utilization at the data center (both production and DR sites).
- Manage and track the renewal of all network and firewall device licenses and ensure that they do not expire.
- Weekly reports of all ISP link connection uptime and downtime.
- Provide immediate technical support and investigation to reported issues, ensuring that these issues are investigated thoroughly, and on time.
- Tracking faults on occurrence, following through to resolution.
- Maintain and manage maintenance schedules for Arca’s network, including running daily, weekly, monthly, and annual network maintenance processes.
- Look for trends in network data for preventative and proactive problem resolution. Manage the tracking and escalation of incidents and complete root cause analysis.
- Work with business stakeholders and IT to ensure the quality of documentation and the ability to measure and manage the performance of the network to stringent KPIs.
- Contribute to an open team culture of excellence, efficiency and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- BSc/HND qualification in computer science, engineering, or any related discipline.
- A minimum of 2-3 years experience in any Fintech or IT operations environment
- Excellent understanding of IP networking, Switching and Routing
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication, reporting, and presentation skills
- Excellent relationship skills with a strong focus on exemplary service
