As we continue to expand our roster and reach, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Label Manager to join our team.

Job Overview:

  • The Label Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of Ignite Music International and ensuring the success of our artists and releases.
  • Reporting to the Managing Director the Label Manager will be responsible for artist signing and management, music distribution, catalogue registration and administration, and overall label operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the A&R (Artist and Repertoire) efforts of the label, including scouting, recruiting, and nurturing talented artists.
  • Negotiate contracts with artists and oversee the development and management of their careers.
  • Manage the distribution of the label's music to various platforms and outlets, ensuring maximum exposure and revenue generation.
  • Register and administer the label's catalogue of songs and recordings, including securing copyrights and managing royalties.
  • Coordinate with marketing and promotion teams to develop and execute promotional campaigns for new releases and artists.
  • Monitor and manage budgets for projects and initiatives, ensuring financial viability and profitability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with artists, managers, agents, and industry professionals.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and emerging opportunities to inform label strategy and decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in label management, A&R, or artist management within the music industry.
  • Strong understanding of music distribution, copyright administration, and catalogue management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Creative vision, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of the Nigerian music industry landscape and trends (preferred).
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, including music distribution platforms and royalty tracking systems.
