Lead, Solutions Design at NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is the state oil corporation which was established on April 1, 1977. In addition to its exploration activities, the Corporation was given powers and operational interests in refining, petrochemicals and products transportation as well as marketing. Between 1978 and 1989, NNPC constructed refineries in Warri, Kaduna and Port Harcourt and took over the 35,000-barrel Shell Refinery established in Port Harcourt in 1965. In 1988, the NNPC was commercialised into 12 strategic business units, covering the entire spectrum of oil industry operations: exploration and production, gas development, refining, distribution, petrochemicals, engineering, and commercial investments. Currently, the subsidiary companies include: Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) The Nigerian Gas Company (NGC) The Products and Pipelines Marketing Company (PPMC) Integrated Data Services Limited (IDSL) National Engineering and Technical Company Limited (NETCO) Hydrocarbon Services Nigeria Limited (HYSON) Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Co. Limited (WRPC) Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemical Co. Limited (KRPC) Port Harcourt Refining Co. Limited (PHRC) NNPC Retail Duke Oil

Objectives

To design software solutions to address identified business requirements for process automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct sessions for the design of solutions for process automation.
  • Map business requirements to system requirements to ensure they are in line with the enterprise architectural plan.
  • Develop detailed functional and technical requirements for solution development/sourcing.
  • Develop architecture and prototype of required solutions.
  • Review and analyse existing applications and applications in development to ensure conformance to architecture and design.
  • Participate in business process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide timely and regular reports on the activities of the section to Deputy Manager, Applications Development.
  • Ensure the capacity development of direct reports, through coaching and other learning methods, for optimal productivity and performance.
  • Provide regular, formal and informal, feedback on identified gaps of direct reports’ performance and recommend appropriate solutions.

Educational Qualification

  • First Degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or relevant field
  • Relevant ICT certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Professional membership of relevant ICT bodies

Experience

  • Minimum of 9 years relevant post qualification experience
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry will be an added advantage.
