About CENSCOPE Centre for Social Cohesion, Peace and Empowerment (CENSCOPE) is a non-profit organization that focuses on promoting the ideals of self-sustainability, equality and social justice to the members of the society, it was founded in the year 2014 out of the need to give succor and support to the victim of arm conflict and natural disasters in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project communication and media strategies in line with organizational and donor (e.g. UNMAS) requirements.
- Produce high-quality communication materials, including press releases, success stories, human-interest stories, briefs, and social media content.
- Manage organizational social media platforms and website updates related to mine action activities.
- Ensure compliance with donor visibility and branding guidelines in all communication products.
- Coordinate media coverage for project activities, events, and field missions.
- Capture and document project activities through photos, videos, and field reports, ensuring ethical and safety standards are met.
- Support advocacy, awareness, and EORE messaging in collaboration with programme teams.
- Maintain a media contact database and manage relationships with media partners.
- Support donor reporting by contributing communication inputs and evidence of visibility.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in photography, videography, and basic video editing tools.
- Experience managing social media platforms and digital communication tools.
- Knowledge of humanitarian communication principles and ethical standards.
- Strong interpersonal and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in field-based settings.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in humanitarian, mine action, or development projects.
- Strong understanding of donor visibility requirements and branding guidelines.
- Willingness to travel to field locations and work in challenging environments.
