Tongston, with special focus on secondary education, partners with educators, parents, students, profit and non-profit enterprises, social influencers, investors and government, whilst leveraging on media, learning and finance, to transform secondary schools into entrepreneurship institutes, secondary teachers to entrepreneurial educators and secondary students to entrepreneurial learners.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Social media management:
- Create, schedule, and manage content across various social media platforms.
- Monitor social media channels, engage with the audience, and respond to inquiries.
Graphics Design with Canva:
- Create eye-catching graphics and visuals for social media, blog posts, and marketing materials using Canva or similar tools.
Video editing with AI tools
Media Management:
- Organize and maintain digital media assets, including images, videos, and audio files.
- Ensure media files are easily accessible for marketing campaigns.
AI Tools:
- Utilize AI tools and platforms to analyze and optimize content for social media and other digital channels.
Blog Management:
- Manage and update the company's blog with fresh and relevant content.
- Optimize blog posts for SEO to improve visibility.
Content Development:
- Assist in creating high-quality written and visual content for online and offline channels.
- Ensure the content aligns with brand guidelines and marketing strategies.
Social Media Marketing:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement social media marketing campaigns.
- Monitor campaign performance and make adjustments as needed.
- Posting relevant content in social media groups
Event Management:
- Support the planning and execution of online and offline events, webinars, and conferences.
- Promote events through social media and other channels.
PR (Public Relations):
- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with media outlets, influencers, and partners.
- Draft press releases and manage media inquiries.
- Draft copies and content for PR campaigns.
- Create and implement PR campaigns.
- Getting speaking slots for conferences and summits.
- Managing all aspects required for successful participation in conferences & summits.
Publications:
- Collaborate on the creation and distribution of newsletters, e-books, and other publications.
- Media Intelligence and Strategy:
Marketing
- Design and deploy content for advertising and marketing campaigns.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitors.
- Provide insights and recommendations for media strategy improvements.
- Leads Generation.
- Proposal writing.
- Following up with clients for invoices, responses to proposals, feedback on proposals, satisfaction of services etc.
- Stakeholder management and maintenance of a stakeholder database.
- Handle administrative tasks related to the discharge of activities of Tongston Media.
Education & Experience
- A degree in English, communications, public relations, marketing, business management or a related field of study.
- A post-graduate or professional qualification in Journalism, Communication, Marketing or Public Relations would be useful especially in lieu of a relevant tertiary degree.
- Proficiency in key applications (MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Corel Draw, Adobe Systems; Skydrive, DropBox, Google Docs, and any other required applications) is required.
- Up to 1-2 years) work experience as a Marketing, Journalism, Communications and Branding Specialist or similar role, with an understanding of business and education field
- Familiarity with B2B and B2C advertising campaigns
- Hands-on experience with web content management tools, like WordPress.
- Experience in managing social media communities for brands, required.
- Experience executing email and social media outreach to targeted audience segments, required.
- Established relationships with traditional media houses (TV, Newspaper and Radio) locally and internally is required.
- Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics.
- Knowledge and ability to handle email marketing campaigns is required such as Real Magnet/Mail Chimp.
- Ability to procure and engage vendors.
