Responsibilities
- Responsible for analyzing data, thinking creatively, and dreaming up innovative strategies to make sure marketing campaigns reach the right target audience in the most effective way possible.
Duties
- Reach the highest number of people with the lowest-priced ad possible.
- Identify the target audience.
- Coordinate launch of media campaigns with marketing, communications, and sales departments.
- Keep abreast of industry figures, including distribution and audience figures.
- Monitor and optimize the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Build relationships with media sales companies.
- Negotiate rates with media sales companies to obtain the most competitive prices.
- Find a combination of media that will enable the marketer to communicate the message.
- Purchase advertising time on the radio
- Use a combination of several different kinds of media to reach different audiences.
- Gain client approval for each campaign phase.
- Work with media sales workers employed by newspapers, magazines, cable services, and radio and television stations
- Prepare advertising schedules.
Competencies
- Broad knowledge of media channels
- Familiarity with campaign evaluation metrics and media buying
- Working knowledge of analytics tools (e.g. GfK MRI, MOAT, Nielsen IMS)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong attention to details
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- Excellent use of Excel and other Microsoft packages.
