  • A Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer networks, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and running smoothly.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Network Design and Planning: Designing and planning network infrastructure, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
  • Installation and Configuration: Installing and configuring network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
  • Network Security: Implementing and enforcing network security measures, such as access controls, encryption, and firewalls, to protect against cyber threats.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving network issues, such as connectivity problems, slow performance, and outages.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades: Performing regular maintenance tasks, such as software updates, backups, and firmware upgrades.
  • Monitoring and Analysis: Monitoring network performance, analyzing data, and making recommendations for improvement.
  • User Support: Providing technical assistance and support to users, including resolving issues with network connectivity and access.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of network configurations, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaboration: Working with other IT teams, such as cybersecurity and software development, to ensure network infrastructure meets organizational needs.
  • Staying Up-to-Date: Keeping current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve network administration skills.

Must have 3 to 5 years work experience as a Network Administrator. A plus if Cisco Certified.
