Job Brief

  • We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Support Engineer to ensure smooth running, monitoring, and maintenance of the network infrastructure, providing technical support to customers and internal teams, and ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of internet services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level support for network-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve faults on routers, switches, firewalls, wireless devices, and other network equipment.
  • Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability using NMS (Network Monitoring Systems).
  • Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level engineers or vendors.
  • Handle customer complaints, troubleshoot connectivity problems, and provide timely resolution.
  • Support business and enterprise customers with dedicated internet or leased line connections.
  • Configure and troubleshoot CPEs (Customer Premises Equipment) like routers, modems, and wireless APs.
  • Perform configurations and maintenance of core network devices (MikroTik, Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, etc.).
  • Implement routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.) and ensure optimal traffic flow.
  • Support IP address management, NAT, VLAN, and VPN setups.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network topology, configurations, and incidents.
  • Generate reports on network performance, outages, and SLA compliance.
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation for customers and internal use.
  • Work with the network engineering team to optimize and upgrade network infrastructure.
  • Participate in projects such as capacity upgrades, new service rollouts, and system integrations.
  • Research and recommend new technologies to improve service quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
  • 3 – 4 years of experience in network support, preferably in an ISP environment.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, JNCIA, MikroTik MTCNA/ MTCRE) are an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Experience with network devices (Cisco, MikroTik, Ubiquiti, Juniper, Huawei, etc.).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (PRTG, Zabbix, Nagios, The Dude, etc.).
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.

Salary
N250,000 - N300,000 / month
