- Africa prudential plc is seeking a versatile and skilled Network Systems, and Cloud Engineer to join our innovative IT team. In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our network infrastructure, overseeing our systems environment, and driving our cloud computing initiatives.
- The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of networking, system administration, and cloud technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Configure and manage network services such as DHCP, DNS, and VLANs.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
- Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers running Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain system software and applications.
- Perform routine system backups and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and improve existing systems.
- Manage and administer cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
- Implement and optimize cloud solutions for scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Automate deployment and management tasks using cloud orchestration tools.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in network engineering, system administration, and cloud engineering roles.
- Proficiency in networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs).
- Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or HP.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of cloud services such as EC2, S3, VPC, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Blob Storage, etc.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, RHCE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Administrator Associate.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and tools.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds).
